Description and Specification for Lab Tenders
Astra Scientific Scotch Yoko Mechanism.
The Educational Scotch Yoko Mechanism mechanism demonstrates relative
motion between a crank rotation in degrees and a yoke translation in
millimeters.
This unit is an example of slider-crank mechanism, for converting the
linear motion of a slider into rotational motion or vice versa. The
rotating motion of the crank generates the alternative linear motion of
the piston. It is a reversible system.
The Scotch yoke (also known as slotted link mechanism) is a
reciprocating motion mechanism, converting the linear motion of a slider
into rotational motion, or vice versa. The piston or other
reciprocating part is directly coupled to a sliding yoke with a slot
that engages a pin on the rotating part.
