Description and Specification for Lab Tenders
Astra Scientific Spark Ignition System Trainer.
The experimental test stand Waste-spark Ignition System Trainer is a
training board used to teach the waste-spark electronic ignition system
that is usually installed on some four-stroke cycle internal combustion
engines. The distributor less trainer is mounted with OEM components.
Requires a 12VDC power supply to operate.
A spark-ignition engine (SI engine) is an internal combustion engine,
generally a petrol engine, where the combustion process of the air-fuel
mixture is ignited by a spark from a spark plug. This is in contrast to
compression-ignition engines, typically diesel engines, where the heat
generated from compression together with the injection of fuel is enough
to initiate the combustion process, without needing any external spark.
FEATURES:
• Ability to visualize the operation of a direct ignition system using coil-on-plug ignition technology
• Ability to test and verify a basic ignition circuit without distributor
• Four operational faults can be inserted to promote student diagnostic troubleshooting competencies
• Includes wiring schematics.
• Easily describe all of the components of the system that have been mounted together on a board.
• Actively troubleshoot faults that have been intentionally introduced in the connections.
• Educate about the whole wiring system by disassembling and assembling the various parts.
• Effortlessly use and display this model because of its compact and inclusive design
SPECIFICATIONS:
• Crankshaft position (CKP) sensor with gap adjustment
• Electric motor driven crankshaft sprocket
• Motor speed controller
• Ignition control module
• Spark plugs and plug wires
• Fault box with 4 faults
• Test points for diagnosis
• Requires a 12VDC power supply to operate
